Bohdan Jarmolowicz
Bohdan Jarmolowicz studies conducting and composition at the Academy of Music (PWSM) at Poznan, Poland. With Workshop Jazz Group he has received several awards at Jazz on the Odra Festival.
In 1980 he was a finalist in the Young Conductor's Competition in Besacon, France. During eighties and nineties he went to Western European countries to conduct and direct American-German productions of such renowned musicals as Westside Story and The Phantom of the Opera. He also conducted an American 1998 Grammy nominated CD with the State Chamber Orchestra of Slupsk. The CD includes works for saxophone and orchestra by Ibert, Villa-Lobos, Rachmaninov, Glazunov, and P.M. Dubois, performed by the American saxophonist Greg Banaszak as soloist.
Nowadays, he conducts Polish Philharmonic Sinfonia Baltica of Slupsk, and is considered as one of the top Polish conductors of his generation. ...
