"Meykade-ye Ârezu" ("Tavern of Wish") and "‘Âsheq Masho" ("Do Not Fall in Love") are among the most intimate songs of this collection which quickly communicate with the listener and consequently invite him or her to further listening. "Chashm-e Âtashin" ("Fiery Eye") is a very difficult and demanding song for the performer. Due to Banân's familiarity with the tombak playing, he performed this kind of pieces with a special skill. Uncommon sustained notes and trills, carried over to the next down beat, are Banân's speciallities. This song provides a challenging excercise to students and mature singers alike. "Qesse-ye Shab" ("Night-time Story") is composed by Abdollâh Jahânpanâh; a violinist whose compositions were performed by notable singers of Persian national radio including Moluk Zarrâbi, Farah, and Shajariân. Mrs Paridokht Âvar, ostâd Banân's spouse, considers "Qesse-ye Shab" as her favorite piece, thus we have included it here as a token of respect for this lady.
